Job Description

Leading a globally active trader of non-conflict strategic minerals including cassiterite (tin), wolframite (tungsten), tantalite (tantalum), amblygonite (lithium), and columbite (niobium). The company sources material from validated industrial and semi-mechanised mines across the Great Lakes Region of Central Africa (DRC, Rwanda, Burundi) and supplies blue-chip international customers.

Company has rapidly established itself as a major supplier of wolframite and tantalite and has expanded into LME Grade A Tin Ingots, working with LME-certified smelters. The business operates with a lean, high-performance team in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment.

The Mumbai office supports global operations through compliance, documentation, due diligence, and ERP-based controls.

Role Purpose

The Due Diligence & Documentation Auditor will be responsible for end-to-end KYC, compliance documentation, and responsible sourcing audits, ensuring companies supply chain remains fully compliant with international conflict-free and due diligence standards.

This is a high-ownership role involving close interaction with internal teams, suppliers, buyers, auditors, and downstream customers, including field-based site visits in Central Africa.

Key Responsibilities

Due Diligence & KYC
• Maintain and manage KYC records for suppliers, buyers, and counterparties.
• Coordinate directly with counterparties to obtain, verify, and update due diligence documentation in real time.
• Ensure full compliance with customer and regulatory due diligence requirements.

Contracts & Documentation
• Prepare, review, and maintain purchase and sales contracts prior to external circulation.
• Ensure accurate filing and version control of all commercial and compliance documentation.

ERP & Process Improvement
• Work closely with the ERP team to streamline KYC workflows and document storage.
• Support continuous improvement of compliance and traceability processes.

Audits & Site Visits
• Take ownership of annual due diligence audits required by downstream customers.
• Conduct on-site supply chain, traceability, and conflict-free verification audits in sourcing regions across Central Africa.
• Identify, report, and rectify compliance gaps during audits and shipment reviews.

Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination
• Prepare detailed site visit reports, audit reports, and sourcing policy documentation.
• Liaise with internal management, external auditors, customers, and suppliers to resolve due diligence, KYC, or compliance issues.
• Support shipment-specific compliance checks and documentation reviews.

Industry Engagement
• Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and industry meetings related to due diligence, traceability, and responsible sourcing.

Education & Qualifications
• Master’s degree from a reputed / first-class university (preferably in Law, English, Compliance, Administration, or related fields).
• Prior experience involving KYC, compliance, audits, documentation, or report writing.
• Exposure to African operations or international trade compliance is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new due diligence and compliance frameworks.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable working across diverse cultures (Central African suppliers and Western blue-chip customers).
• Proficient in MS Office; ERP training will be provided.
• Fast typing, efficient multitasking, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally for audits and site visits.

Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: INR 1,00,000 – 2,00,000 per month (gross)

Working Hours & Leave
• Working Hours:
• Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM – 7:30 PM IST
• Saturday: 11:30 AM – 5:30 PM IST
• Flexibility required to align with East African and UK time zones and occasional out-of-hours work.
• Leave: 20 calendar days of paid leave per annum.
