Job Description
Driver's Helpers
Springhill Lumber (Wholesale) Ltd. is looking for Driver's Helpers. These positions are full time from Monday to Friday with some overtime as required.
The successful candidates will receive full company paid benefits after 90-days.
Rate of Pay: Depending on Experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure orders are loaded, unloaded and accurately filled, counted and secured following all safe work requirements;
Loading and unloading various building materials (roof top shingles, drywall, siding, and lumber, etc.);
Be professional, courteous, and punctual with a focus on customer service;
Other duties as required.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Hold a valid Class 5(F) driver’s licence;
Obtain and hold a Driver’s Abstract (must be within 3 months);
Ability to do physical labour including lifting, carrying (over 50 Lbs.), bending repeatedly on a daily basis;
Fluent in English (spoken and written) with excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Forklift Licence desired (but not required) in house training;
Ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced, demanding working environment.
Reliable vehicle is required, as this is a non-bus route.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to dust and extreme changes in temperature and weather when working outside year around.
Safety boots and safety equipment are required.
Busy, high-volume environment.
