Job Description
• Classification: Austrade Overseas Performance Level F (AOPL F)
• Location: Kolkata, India
• Salary: INR 2+1,102 per annum
The Role
The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) is looking for a Driver and Office Assistant based in Kolkata, India. The Driver / Office Assistant will provide driving services to diplomats, staff, officials, and visitors, as well as supporting routine administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, managing couriers, and escorting visitors to the offices.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, outcomes-driven individual, demonstrating well-developed written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Duties include
• Driving diplomats, staff, officials, and visitors in Austrade’s vehicle as required
• Maintaining vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition
• Carrying out minor maintenance to vehicles and conducting daily checks such as oil, water and tyres
• Inspecting vehicles for minor defects and promptly report damage to the Corporate Service Advisor
• Ensuring vehicle registrations and insurances are kept up to date and preparing appropriate documentation
• Delivering letters, goods, personal effects, and packages, and managing courier services as required
• Participating in after-hours duties, as required
• Supporting the Office Manager with office administrative processes as required
• Assisting the Office Manager with facility management duties and client activity coordination (organisation of meetings and venues) for visits and events, including assisting with program preparation and event set up, as well as ensuring the general cleanliness and orderliness of the office
• Ensuring strong working relationship with Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and other Australian Government agencies
• Utilising internal databases and knowledge management systems to support work practices
• Working as part of an Austrade team and maintaining standards and policies, including workplace diversity, ethical practice and occupational health and safety principles and compliance with audit requirements.
• Assist in making tea/coffee for guests at Austrade including cleaning of the pantry.

Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:
• Work Authorisation - to be eligible for employment with Austrade in India, candidates must be legally authorised to live and work in India at the time of appointment.
• Language - the successful candidate must be a highly motivated team member, fluent in written and spoken English.
• Security Clearance - the successful applicant must be willing to complete an Entry Level Screening Pack and be confirmed as a suitable person to access Government resources prior to commencement in the role.
