Job Title
Safely Load and Transport Heavy Equipment

About the Role
This position involves handling diesel-powered tractor-trailers to transport various types of heavy equipment. The primary responsibility is to safely load and secure equipment for movement from one location to another.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and provide documentation for equipment delivery or pickup, including pre-trip and daily logs, in accordance with BIT guidelines.
Operate vehicles in compliance with DOT Federal and State regulations.
Loading and unloading equipment using securement devices such as chains and binders.
Receive daily schedules from dispatchers.
Making deliveries within established timeframes.
Performing routine maintenance and upkeep of trucks, notifying supervisors when extensive repairs are required.
Ensuring customer signatures on rental agreements, noting any damage to equipment upon delivery or return.
Reporting abnormal equipment operating conditions and accidents to supervisors.
Recognizing and reporting unsafe working conditions.
Requirements
A valid Class A driver's license and a clean DMV record.
High school diploma or equivalent, with 1-2 years of equipment experience and/or training.
Work Environment
The work environment centers around tractor/trailer operations, involving exposure to fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and occasional noise levels. Read more
