Job Description
We are looking for an architect who has deep experience in software design, comes from a software development background, and has experience scaling cloud-based systems. No specific knowledge of logistics systems is needed but is valuable context. You should want to do things better – we believe in continuous improvement of the Platform – and you should have an opinion and contribute to improving our solutions and the architectural practices. You should care about modern cloud architectures (including Azure, Kubernetes, and Kafka) and want to make them better. It would help if you had a strong opinion on agile, continuous integration, continuous deployment, DDD, TDD, unit testing and integration testing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute positively to the technical design of our Platform. Identifying areas of improvement, suggesting and designing solutions to them.
• Define a technical roadmap that supports the business objectives of our fulfilment/logistics platform.
• Knowledge of tools in our architecture and development stack is advantageous: C#, WebApi, .NET Core, Microservices, Kubernetes, Kafka (confluent.io), SQL and No SQL databases, Azure.
• Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and enthusiasm for tackling challenging problems.
• Outstanding communication skills required – primarily the ability to communicate ideas.
• A willingness to act as a role model and mentor to developers in our engineering team.
Key Experience & Skills:
• Demonstrated experience working with business and technology stakeholders to define a complete end to end software solution.
• Experience in designing high-volume applications – preferably in a C#, Microservices, Azure environment.
• Good at explaining the solution through documentation and verbal communication.
• Ability to build a consensus on the solution.
• Deep technical knowledge with a history of solving complex problems. Adept at identifying and solving security, scaling, resilience, and consistency challenges.
• Experience in eCommerce is highly desirable.
• Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and enthusiasm for tackling challenging problems.
