Job Description
Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
Complete a pre-employment medical

Receptive to working long hours in a damp, humid area which can get very dirty and be very busy
Ability to lift and move industrial size cooking equipment

Responsibilities
As Galley Steward you will support the Galley (kitchen) team, by washing, rinsing and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans and other galley utensils
You will have sanitation tasks in dish wash and pot wash areas and night shift
You will report to: First Steward
Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities, and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations
Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
Bring approved work shoes
*Disney Cruise Line is a drug-free workplace
Failure to pass the drug/alcohol testing will result in immediate termination
Operate various cleaning equipment; clean all kitchen equipment and machines
Handle and dispose of chemicals and food waste
Follow opening and closing procedures for all kitchen and production areas
Responsible for proper waste separation and recycling
Ensure Disney Cruise Line and USPH Sanitation requirements are met in your area of responsibility
Use industrial dishwasher to clean china and silverware for guest and crew dining areas
Cleaning and washing of all pots, pans and cooking equipment used by cooks and chefs
Using pot wash machine as well as 3 compartment sink
Working over night to clean galleys
Washing walls, mopping floors, cleaning and scrubbing kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers and ovens, using heavy duty oven cleaner and other chemicals
Use Personal Protective Equipment such as goggles, gloves and respirators
