Job Title: Disability Support Worker
Location: Penrith, NSW, Australia
Job Type: Permanent Part-Time
About the Role
Overcoming is seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team in Penrith, NSW on a temporary part-time basis subject to review after 6 months. In this role, you will provide person-centered support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their goals, maintain independence, and enhance their quality of life.
As a TFN (Tax File Number) employee, you'll benefit from stable employment, with tax contributions paid on your behalf and access to entitlements such as paid annual leave, personal/carer's leave, and superannuation.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with personal care, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
Support clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation and household tasks.
Facilitate community participation and social engagement.
Implement support plans in line with NDIS guidelines.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Administer medication (if required and trained).
Maintain accurate records and progress notes.
Ensure a safe and respectful environment for participants.
Transport clients to appointments, community activities, and other engagements using your own vehicle.
Requirements
Experience in disability or aged care (preferred but not required).
Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or a related field (or willingness to obtain).
NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
First Aid and CPR Certification.
Valid Driver’s License and a reliable, insured vehicle (required).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy, patience, and a passion for helping others.
