Disability Support Worker

Phoenix Lifestyle Support Association is seeking a dynamic and strong disability support worker to join a really awesome team! The successful applicant will be supporting two men who live in a SIL home in Victoria Point. Both men are fit and strong and can have behaviours of concern. Applicants must have skills with personal care, implementation and following behaviour support plans, be person-centered, reliable, and have excellent communication skills. We are looking for someone available for our accommodation night shift rotating roster (including weekends). Overnight shifts are from 4:30pm to 8:30am (non-active). Applicants must have experience and the ability to work with high physical needs, dysphagia and epilepsy. This is a casual position and there are many other opportunities for casual work at Phoenix. We can provide the right applicant additional shifts both day, night and weekends. Applicates with no work restrictions are highly regarded.

Phoenix Lifestyle Support Association Inc. is a not-for-profit disability support service provider located in Redlands Brisbane. We are a small organisation that provides both community participation and supported independent living adults with disabilities.

Duties

· Due to the participant's needs a dynamic a physically strong worker is required.

· The support worker will work in a team and must be able to work nights/days and weekends.

· Support workers must be comfortable working with personal care and physical transfers

· The role requires the support worker to work closely with families and allied health professionals.

Requirements

· Current disability worker screening clearance card.

· Cert III in Disability or relevant hands-on experience

· Current First Aid certificate and current CPR

· Open Drivers licence with own vehicle

· Smart mobile phone

· Australian or NZ citizenship or the capacity to permanently work in Australia.

· Previous experience worth with participants requiring restrictive practices, dysphagia and epilepsy training would be viewed favourably.
