Job Description
Lead a critical reform and establish the SSR's new Internal Review Branch, bringing the review of Working with Children Check decisions in-house from the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Legal and Internal Review (General Counsel), you will build and lead a high-performing function designing frameworks that deliver independent, consistent and legally robust decisions. You will oversee complex, high-volume reviews, manage FOI functions, and engage with key stakeholders including the Expert Panel under the Worker Screening Act 2020 (Vic).
The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment, requiring a capacity to exercise sound judgement and manage resources effectively to process and determine a high volume of reviewable WWCC decisions as well as other SSR decisions.
As a senior leader, you will drive transformational change and contribute to Victoria's child safety reform agenda.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the internal review function.
Ensure independent decision-making and compliance with legislative requirements.
Establish and mature a new specialist branch.
Ensure regulatory integrity, accountability and transparency.
