The Scleroderma Society is a part of a national non-profit organization committed to supporting individuals affected by scleroderma through education, advocacy, and research. We work to raise awareness, fund innovative research, and foster a supportive community for patients and their families across the country.
Position Summary:
The Scleroderma Society of Ontario is seeking a creative and self-motivated Digital Communications Coordinator Intern to support our digital engagement and storytelling efforts. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social media, content creation, and digital communications in a nonprofit setting. The successful candidate will also be available to attend in-person events during evenings and weekends to create and share live content.
Under the supervision of the Lead of Communications, Strategy and Activation, the person in this position will work on:
Social Media Management:
Develop, schedule, and publish engaging content across Scleroderma Canada’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn), aligned with our voice and mission.
Live Event Coverage:
Attend in-person events (including evenings and weekends as needed) to capture high-quality live content including photos, video clips, interviews, and social stories.
Content Creation:
Design digital assets (graphics, videos, reels, stories) using tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar platforms to support ongoing campaigns and initiatives.
Digital Engagement Analytics:
Monitor audience engagement, respond to comments/messages, and help track analytics to inform content strategy and reporting.
Newsletter Web Content:
Assist with the creation and editing of newsletters, blog posts, and website updates.
Campaign Support:
Help brainstorm and execute digital campaigns to raise awareness around scleroderma, fundraising initiatives, and community stories.
Skills and Experience
You have great communication skills (both verbal and written)
Familiar with MS Office Suite, Hootsuite, Wix Canva.
You know social media like the back of your hand
You see things from all perspectives making you a problem-solving pro.
You have great time management skills and can multitask.
You have an eye for attention to detail and design.
You’re an empathetic, tech-savvy, passionate person who is open to learning!

Relevant Education Backgrounds:
Social Media, Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, PR, etc.

41 King William St. Suite 203, Hamilton, ON (located above The Mule)
Typical Hours - Monday to Friday – +:00am – 5:00pm (some flexibility required – evenings weekends)
