Job Description

He angituutanga: The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and collaborative Digital Communication and Engagement Advisor to help us on our journey to be the leading community-focused Council.

Whether you’re filming Councillors and staff, showcasing our amazing parks and reserves or creating a fun, on-trend video about our latest public consultation, you’ll produce content that gets Hamiltonians informed, engaged and talking!

What you’ll do:

You’ll plan and deliver social media campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok and other digital channels.
From creating standout photo and video content to joining conversations in the comments, you’ll build genuine connections between Council and our community around the things that matter to Hamiltonians.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is curious, creative and community-focused, loves building relationships with a wide range of people, and finding fresh, engaging ways to connect audiences with the things that matter most to them.

You'll also bring:

Extensive photography and videography (content creation) experience
A degree in communication, or other relevant tertiary qualification
At least five years’ experience with social media and community management in a similar sized or larger organisation
A track record of successfully leading digital communication and engagement projects
Experience using community management tools, email marketing and analytics
A love of working with diverse people.

The recruiting range for this role starts at $91,500 per annum.
