Job Description
Dietetics is a bustling existing service at the clinic. You'll join a superb team of experienced therapists.
Marketing will be organised for you, however your commitment and motivation to build up your patient base will also be key to success. We have great referrals from GPs & specialists, patients, street-front exposure, a high ranking website on google & other search engines and active social media presence. We'll require your expertise to help promote you. This might be contributing blog posts, social media collaborations, networking with referrals or other means to suit your ideal clients and your preferences & strengths.
General DietitianPosition Requirement:
Bachelor and/or Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics
Be a member of Dietitians Australia (DA) and APD (Provisional APD will also be accepted)
Eligible for registration with Medicare, NDIS and DVA
Have public liability and professional indemnity insurance (of up to $10M) or willing to obtain
Have your own ABN. This is a contractor position.
Current Police Check and Working with Children Check
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Senior Dietitian will be available for ongoing mentoring and support, including monthly dietetics team meeting and email support.
Have own laptop or tablet
Happy to build dietetic referrals by engaging with GPs in surrounding areas
Availability requirements: flexible according to your current availability and personal needs. 1-2 shifts a week, preferably with hours available after school / work (ie: until 7pm)
Confident to see clients with:
General wellbeing: healthy eating for energy, wellbeing, enjoyment and disease prevention
Gastrointestinal complaints: IBS, IBD, coeliac, intolerances, reflux, bowel movements, etc
Chronic disease: diabetes, CVD, kidney disease, etc
Women's Health: fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, lactation, hormonal health, menopause, etc.
Weight management: obtaining & maintaining healthy weight
Position Expectations and Opportunities:
Provide exceptional service: You love what you do and that radiates from you.
Grow your practice: You'll be given some patients but also be expected to bring in & retain patients.
Be a team player: Be able to work within a team environment amongst 10 other practitioners, including another 3 existing dietitians (one on family leave)
Administrative Support: We have admin staff on 4 days a week but there will be a small amount of administrative duties to be done. At times that might be taking payments & booking your patients in after their appointments. Everyone helps out within the clinic. If you are busy, frequently someone will be there to help you out.
Live what you preach: be enthusiastic about living a healthy lifestyle.
Committed to learning: we encourage our practitioners to continue to develop their clinical skills & knowledge through external and internal PD, reading articles, etc.
Patient-centred care: the aim of the game is to serve your clients, follow up with them, book them appropriately. Happy clients make us happy.
If you are unsure, ask. We are always there to answer questions and be of assistance.
Create content: Every few months, we ask that you create social media content, write a blog post or host a workshop about a topic of your choice. We want to promote you and your expertise so we ask for your knowledge but we will edit the videos, create the posts, publish the blog and do the "boring" elements.
Be community minded: We occasionally host free community workshops and run charity drives.
