Job Description

Roles, Responsibilities

Greet Visitors: Greet all client and vendor walk ins with a courteous and professional manner so that each person feels a warm welcome to the BDR Office. Directing customers to the appropriate person or department.

Internal/External Communication: Ensure all incoming calls are handled professionally and efficiently by asking detailed questions to ensure that the customer is routed to the correct department on the initial call. Check the answering machine each morning to make sure the messages are relayed to the correct department. Company Newsletter: Assist Human Resources and Marketing with the collection of RCA Newsletter information by staying informed of employee and company related news or announcements for the newsletter content.

Company Phone List: Oversee the compilation and maintenance of the company phone list to ensure accurate and current information for employees.

Administration: Provide administrative support to Human Resources with various duties and projects as needed for the overall organization of the department as well as keeping daily operations running smoothly.

Office Conference Room Calendar: Manage the office conference room calendar to ensure that the room is available when needed for client, vendor and/or BDR meetings.

Office Supplies: Manage, receive and review weekly office supply orders to ensure that the office supplies orders stay within the allotted monthly budget.

Assist Human Resources with the Pre-Hire Process for Hourly Employees: Review the Pre-Hire Packet with the potential candidate after he/she has accepted the position. Schedule the Drug Test Appointment for the potential hire to move them through the New Hire Process in a timely manner towards employment.

Metrics

Organization of processes involved in supporting Human Resources as well as other departments as needed.

Effectiveness of communication and follow through with customers.

Ensuring BDR reputation is sustained in area.

Qualifications, Certifications, Educational Requirements
• 3-5 years administration experience

Preferred Skills

Ability to communicate effectively

Must be detailed oriented, and possess organizational skills

Computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Suites, Computer Ease

Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures

Additional Notes

This position operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

This position works standard work week but may be required to work some evenings and weekends to meet project milestones. Travel may be required.

Qualifications
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, special education, human growth and development, psychology, counseling, social work or a closely related field and two years of professional experience providing developmental, special education, intervention, treatment-oriented, child/adult care, and/or instructional guidance services for individuals who have or may be at risk for developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or related conditions; OR one year of experience as a Developmental Specialist II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education at or above a Bachelor's degree and experience as described above
Special Requirements Some positions must obtain an endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education issued by the Nevada Department of Education or a comparable certification issued by the Nevada Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C office within three years of appointment to this series or a comparable certification
(This license requirement applies only to those positions directly involved with children from birth to eight years of age with developmental delays.)

Developmental Specialists provide individual and group clinical, developmental and support services for individuals of all ages who have, or who may be at risk for, developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or related conditions, and social, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.

Under direction, incumbents perform a broad range of duties described in the series concept and may assist in program planning by developing goals and objectives, conducting needs assessments, and collecting and reporting information about the program. This is the journey level in the series. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for full-time Developmental Specialist 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following programs: Autism Treatment Assistant Program (ATAP), Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS), Desert Regional Center - Community (DRC) and Desert Regional Center - Intermediate Care Facility (DRC-ICF).

Incumbents create and implement programs, treatment and service plans, provide direct services and case management, develop financial and community resources, and educate, inform, and assist family members, other agencies, and service providers about human growth and development. Developmental Specialists can be assigned to a variety of specialized programs and facilities. Their duties may take place in the home, clinic, hospital, residential, outpatient, and community settings, among others. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and positive work settings. Some positions must meet federal guidelines for Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional designation at the time of appointment.
