Job Description
Join us as a Development Manager
• We'll need you to set the strategic direction of your team, supported by our senior technical members
• You’ll take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of strategic and tactical projects to deliver business outcomes
• This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to share their subject matter expertise and help shape the future direction of our function
• We're offering this role at vice president level
What you'll do
Day-to-day, we’ll look to you make sure that project deliverables can achieve customer goals within a well-considered total cost of ownership, while ensuring that the reputation of our bank is built, safeguarded and kept foremost in the mind when interacting with all stakeholders.
You’ll also be:
• Making sure that the work done is aligned to the principles of software development across our bank
• Delivering architectural and functional improvements that'll have a positive impact on our technology estate and business
• Driving and contributing to the technology strategy roadmap
• Understanding and incorporating requirements originating from the programmes in which the project team is involved
• Influencing delivery plans and coordinating delivery across multiple projects and deliverables
The skills you'll need
To be successful in this role, you'll need over five years' experience of managing the change delivery of large applications in complex environments and an understanding of data and analytics applications.
We'll also expect you to have knowledge of the latest data-related technologies, like StreamSets, PySpark, Kafka and Scala. An AWS Cloud-related certification or experience would be advantageous.
You’ll also bring:
• A good knowledge of technical architecture and the functionality of applications used to support businesses
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment that often has shifting priorities
• An understanding of one or more service management disciplines, including incident, problem change IT and continuity or capacity
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience of Agile Scrum or SAFe operating models and DevOps CI/CD automation
