About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Level 2 Deskside & Network Support Engineer to join our team and provide onsite IT support across six school locations in the Surrey and Croydon area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on IT professional with strong Windows and networking experience who enjoys working directly with users and managing a varied technical environment. The successful candidate will act as the primary onsite IT Engineer, supporting staff, students, and school administration teams while ensuring reliable operation of IT infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilites
End-User & Deskside Support
Provide Level 2 onsite technical support for hardware, software, and operating system issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents involving desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
Support Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 environments.
Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory.
Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment.
Provide excellent customer service to staff and end users.
Network & Infrastructure Support
Troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity issues.
Support switches, routers, firewalls, and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
Assist with VLAN, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP troubleshooting.
Perform network patching and structured cabling tasks when required.
Support Windows Server environments and related infrastructure.
Maintain accurate technical documentation and asset records.
Site Coverage
Provide support across six school sites located within close proximity.
Travel between locations as required.
Deliver holiday and absence cover when needed.
Work independently while coordinating with school staff and IT management.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of IT Support, Deskside Support, or Network Support experience.
Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 administration and troubleshooting.
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including:
TCP/IP
DNS
DHCP
VLANs
Wi-Fi technologies
Switching and routing
Hardware break/fix experience.
Printer support experience.
Experience using ITSM or ticketing systems.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
Desirable Skills
Experience supporting schools or educational environments.
CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certifications.
Microsoft certifications.
ITIL Foundation certification.
Cisco, Aruba, Ubiquiti, or equivalent networking experience.
Ability to commute/relocate:
London, Greater London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
