ROLE OVERVIEW We are looking for a Menswear Non-Denim Bottoms Designer with 3–4 years of relevant experience who can support the complete design and development process from seasonal research through sampling and final execution. The role requires strong design sensibility, product understanding, attention to detail and effective cross functional coordination.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct seasonal trend research and create trend presentations, mood boards, colour stories and design directions.
- Translate seasonal concepts and trends into commercially relevant product designs.
- Create design sketches, CADs and product presentations for range development.
- Prepare detailed sample dockets and tech packs with required design, construction, fabric, trim and artwork information.
- Coordinate with merchandising, sourcing, product development, technical teams and vendors for design execution.
- Follow up on fabrics, trims and samples to ensure developments are completed as per seasonal timelines. Review samples, provide design comments and participate in fit/sample review sessions.
- Maintain updated design files, sample records, approvals and development comments.
- Support seasonal range reviews, presentations and final range handovers.
KEY SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- 3–4 years of experience in Menswear Non-Denim Bottoms / Apparel Design.
- Strong understanding of apparel design and product development.
- Positive knowledge of woven fabrics, fabric qualities, finishing techniques and garment construction. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience in creating CADs, sample dockets and tech packs.
- Strong communication, coordination and follow-up skills.
- Good time management and attention to detail.
- Commercially relevant design approach with a strong understanding of menswear trends.
PREFERRED PROFILE We are looking for someone who is:
- Product-focused – able to translate strong concepts into well-resolved products.
- Commercially aware – balances fashion trends with customer wearability and business requirements.
- Fabric & product aware – has a strong understanding of woven fabrics, construction, fits and finishing. Detail-oriented – has a strong eye for product detailing, quality and execution.
- Collaborative & accountable – works effectively across teams and takes ownership of developments through final sampling.
- Organised – able to manage multiple styles and developments within seasonal timelines.
EDUCATION Degree in Fashion Design / Apparel Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT)
