Who Will You Work With:
Our client is implementing project for a key player in the aerospace industry. As a Design Engineer, you will work onsite at their location in Fareham, UK, where you’ll collaborate closely with a team of experts to develop and verify cutting-edge hardware solutions.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Design Engineer with a strong background in hardware development, specifically in digital and analog design. You will be responsible for translating system requirements into clear hardware design specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, and supporting hardware qualification activities. This role is initially for a 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret system requirements and develop clear, unambiguous hardware design specifications.
• Design, analyze, commission, and verify analog and digital circuits according to specifications, including cost and reliability targets.
• Document design activities, ensuring adherence to project, company, and regulatory standards.
• Plan and execute hardware verification activities, ensuring compliance with hardware design and qualification requirements.
• Support hardware qualification and verification testing, including EMI/EMC.
• Specify and verify equipment test solutions to support hardware verification and production.
Required Skills:
• Digital/Analog/Memory Design: Expert level
• PCB Design Knowledge: Good
• Power Supply Design (DC-DC): Expert
• EMI/EMC Design: Good
• Design Verification and Validation: Expert
• Hardware Design Analysis (Timing, Power, FMEA): Expert
• Tools: Cadence OrCAD, Allegro PCB Editor, pspice (Expert)
• Board bring-up testing/debugging: Expert
• Qualification testing (EMI/EMC): Good
• Technical Documentation: Expert
Desired Skills:
• System-level testing and hands-on experience with lab equipment (e.g., MSO, Logic Analyzer, Power Supply).
• Familiarity with Avionics data buses (ARINC-42+, MIL-1553, AFDX), HALT/HASS testing methodologies, and RTCA DO-254 standards.
