Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in product design, design engineering, or related discipline
Experience in CAD modelling and using common design software and tools
Experience in 3D Modeling
Must be knowledgeable about both engineering and administrative tasks
Highly adaptable in a fast-paced hyper-growth enviroment
Create clear and concise executive summary reports and presentations
Work with business units to gain in-depth understanding of processes, challenges, and strategies
Project Management and Product Management understanding
Knowledge of cross-organizational work processes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
The Design Engineer’s job is to create innovative product designs that support retail theft prevention needs
This role will be researching new product ideas, analyzing data, and writing progress reports
This position will collaborate on product design with R&D, marketing, product management, quality assurance, and sales to create highly functional products that are profitable and meet user needs
This position will work with legal to ensure no violations of existing patents or IP owned by others
This position reports to the Global Manager of Product Development Engineer
The candidate will collaborate with the R&D team based in China, which oversees the final product development to meet manufacturing requirements
Develop Solutions: Create new designs that meet the customer’s needs, cost, reliability, and timing targets
Research: Look for new product ideas and ways to improve existing products
Analyze data: Use data from tests to evaluate options and craft progress reports
Create prototypes: Create initial versions of products to test by crafting 3D prototypes
Identify Problems: Recognize complex design issues and anticipate production issues
Determine any root causes of failure analyses and anticipate production issues
Document and maintain all design documentation
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure design feasibility for end user
Meet with customers and sales on a regular basis to collaborate on designs
