Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Receptionist, where your energy and organizational skills will be the heartbeat of our clinic. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from appointment scheduling to check-out. Your expertise in medical administrative support, insurance verification, and patient service will help us deliver exceptional dental care while maintaining efficient office operations. Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing processes
Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently
Maintain accurate dental records and medical documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Perform insurance claims processing and follow-up on unpaid or denied claims using EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining medical records
Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely patient flow and care plans are properly documented
Proven experience in a dental office or medical clinic environment with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10)
Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with EMR systems like Epic or Meditech is highly desirable
Solid understanding of insurance verification processes, medical billing, and Medicare/Medicaid procedures
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and health information management best practices
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and typing accuracy (including 10 key typing)
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with front desk operations and office management is advantageous
