Dental Assistant/Receptionist
Job Description
You will be the face of the practice at reception and the right hand of the dentist chairside. This role starts as Casual in May (during our setup and soft launch) and transitions to Full-Time in June as we ramp up to full capacity.

Role Overview
This is a versatile, dual-function role essential for the launch of Kippax Dental. The ideal candidate will provide high-level clinical assistance to the dentist while managing the "front of house" patient experience.
Consideration will also be given to people seeking solely dental assisting role, or solely front desk.
Employment Timeline
Commencement: Casual (Part-time hours) starting Mid May 2026.
Transition: Moving to Full-time starting June 2026.
Consideration will also be given to people seeking casual positions with more limited hours.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Administrative & Reception
Patient Concierge: Manage incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and perform follow-up confirmations.
Financials: Prepare documented treatment plans, process payments (HICAPS/EFTPOS), and ensure accurate fee allocation.
Records Management: Maintain accurate patient records and databases.
Marketing Support: Assist with local marketing activities and "opening week" promotions as directed.
Clinical Support (Chairside) (preferred but not essential)
Patient Prep: Greet patients and prepare them for scheduled procedures.
Clinical Assisting: Provide assistance to the dentist, including operating suction and managing materials.
Infection Control: Clean and sterilize instruments; decontaminate treatment rooms in accordance with practice policies and ADA standards.
Radiography: Process, develop, and file patient X-rays and operate basic digital imaging equipment.
Maintenance: Maintain dental equipment and monitor clinical stock levels.
Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications:
HSC or equivalent.
Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (favored but not essential)
Valid right to work in Australia.
Required Skills:
Communication: Ability to build rapport with patients and adapt communication styles for challenging situations.
Multitasking: Proven ability to switch between clinical and desk duties under pressure.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dental practice management software.
Professionalism: A strong work ethic, punctuality, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Key Performance Competencies
Procedural Compliance: Strict adherence to infection control
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with Dr. Liao to achieve the startup goals of Kippax Dental.
Critical Thinking: Using logic to identify solutions for patient scheduling or administrative hurdles.
Training and mentorship will be provided to the right candidate.
