A well-established dental clinic is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join their professional team.

SkillQuest Solutions are seeking a reliable and motivated Dental Assistant on behalf of our client, a modern dental practice providing a range of general and preventative dental services to the local community, in Streaky Bay, South Australia.

This welcoming dental clinic operates with contemporary dental equipment and follows established clinical and infection control protocols to support safe and effective patient care. The practice is supported by a team of experienced dental professionals who work collaboratively to deliver high-quality treatment outcomes in a patient-focused environment.

Position – Dental Assistant

Location – Streaky Bay, South Australia 5680

Salary - $77,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Employment Type - Full-time, Permanent

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Dental Assistant who is organised, attentive and committed to supporting dental practitioners in delivering efficient and high-quality clinical care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

· Prepare patients for dental procedures by welcoming them, ensuring comfort and assisting with treatment readiness.

· Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and dental materials in accordance with clinical procedures and dentist instructions.

· Assist dental practitioners during procedures by providing instruments, materials and chairside support.

· Operate suction devices and assist with water sprays during dental treatments.

· Process dental X-rays and maintain accurate patient records in line with practice protocols.

· Clean, sterilise and maintain dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards and WHS requirements.

· Perform routine maintenance and organisation of dental equipment and treatment areas.

· Provide patients with basic oral health education and post-operative care instructions as directed by the dental practitioner.

· Manage patient appointments, respond to enquiries and support front desk operations where required.

· Assist with administrative tasks including patient record management, billing and general clerical duties.

· Maintain a clean, safe and organised clinical environment at all times.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

· Relevant qualification, such as a Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or agreed equivalent).

· Minimum of 3 years (preferably more) work experience as a Dental Assistant.

· Demonstrated experience providing chairside assistance and supporting a range of dental procedures.

· Knowledge of infection control procedures, sterilisation protocols and dental clinic hygiene standards.

· Experience in processing dental X-rays and maintaining patient records is highly regarded.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.

· Ability to work effectively within a team and support dental practitioners during procedures.

· Good organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.

· A professional and reliable approach to work.

· You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
