Job Description
At Service Foods, we're committed to delivering fresh, high-quality, and sustainable food products to customers across Aotearoa.
As our business continues to grow, we're looking for a dedicated Class 2 Delivery Driver to join our Wellington branch, based in Upper Hutt.
In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring our customers receive their orders on time, in excellent condition, and with outstanding service. Position Snapshot
Immediate start
Permanent, full-time position
Location: William Durant Drive, Upper Hutt
Days of work: Monday to Saturday
Rostered hours between 04:00am and 14:00pm
The Role
You'll be responsible for delivering a wide range of food products to customers throughout Wellington and surrounding areas, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.
This is a safety-sensitive role requiring a strong commitment to safe driving practices, health and safety procedures, and professional behaviour at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate Class 2 delivery trucks to transport goods
Load and unload products, ensuring they're handled and transported securely
Deliver customer orders accurately and on time
Maintain delivery records and documentation
Provide excellent customer service and represent the Service Foods brand professionally
Comply with all road safety, transport, and traffic regulations
Report vehicle faults or maintenance issues promptly, and refuel vehicles as needed
Conduct daily vehicle checks, including oil and coolant levels, WOF, tyres, and general roadworthiness
Wash and clean vehicles as required
Assist with picking and packing orders when required
What We're Looking For
A full New Zealand Class 2 Driver Licence and confidence driving manual vehicles
Strong communication and customer service skills
Knowledge of Wellington and surrounding areas (preferred)
Good literacy and numeracy skills
A reliable, flexible, and detail-focused approach to work
A clean driving record and clean criminal record
Previous New Zealand driving and delivery experience
Basic knowledge of food products and ingredients
Strong organisational and time management skills
A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team
Reliable transport for your daily commute
Physical Requirements
This is a physically active role involving regular lifting of up to 20kg, loading and unloading deliveries, repetitive movements such as bending, reaching, and twisting, and extended periods of driving, standing, walking, and manual handling. Applicants should be comfortable with the physical nature of the role and able to safely perform its inherent requirements.
