Responsibilities
Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
Load and unload cargo, often involving heavy lifting and moving items within warehouses or delivery sites.
Use forklifts or other equipment as needed for moving heavy or bulky items (training provided if necessary).
Ensure accurate delivery by verifying orders and obtaining signatures when required.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle and delivery equipment.
Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during deliveries.
Keep detailed records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs.
Skills
Experience with moving heavy items safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of forklift operation is a plus; training can be provided.
Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with clients.
Excellent communication skills for clear coordination with dispatch and customers.
Previous warehouse experience is beneficial for understanding logistics and handling goods properly.
Commercial driving experience with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating delivery vehicles.
Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking.
