Duties
Prepare and assemble deli products with precision, following established recipes and safety guidelines
Serve customers efficiently at the deli counter, offering product recommendations and upselling items to enhance their experience
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area, including food handling, bussing, and sanitation procedures
Manage inventory levels by restocking deli items and monitoring product freshness to ensure quality standards are met
Assist with food safety practices by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols
Support team members with basic kitchen tasks, including slicing meats, preparing salads, and packaging products for sale
Requirements
Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service restaurants, cafes, or grocery stores is preferred
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management
Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices in a restaurant or grocery setting
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and reaching
Culinary experience or restaurant background is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
