DBA Engineer Oracle

Job description:

We are looking for a DBA Engineer (Oracle) based at Mahipalpur (New Delhi).

Assignment Description:
• Database Administrator to help support our IT Infrastructure activities. Responsible for Level 2 Database administration of Oracle Databases as primary technology.
• Working knowledge of Middleware applications like JBOSS, Tomcat Apache, Jonas, WebLogic is also desirable.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Handling Technical support tickets within SLAs
• Administer business application databases and associated program software in Database and Application Infrastructure.
• Undertake performance monitoring and tuning, problem resolution, availability management, capacity management, change management and security access management to ensure the continuous provision of service of the database and integrated platform environments.
• Monitor performance of database systems resources and query throughput
• Optimize SQL Code as necessary
• Monitor and maintain database storage resources
• Monitor and maintain database maintenance plans for backups, index rebuild/defragment, and database statistics
• Provide advanced skills in the areas of fault diagnosis and failure and initiate remedial action as required in Database and Application Infrastructure environments
• Perform complex backup and recovery tasks for database and applications infrastructure environments. Design the database recovery and backup policy and procedures in accordance with business requirements.

Key Skills:

The candidate must be familiar with the following technologies:
• Oracle Database Setup and administration.
• Expertise in one or more of Systems area including virtualization, network, storage
• Working knowledge of DBVisit, Oracle Backup & Recovery and High availability technologies (via Dataguard)
• Knowledge in Oracle 12c and higher versions. Managing specialized workloads in cluster, volumes and configuring data, monitoring & logging, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Oracle Database upgrade, performance tuning, 24/7 production support.
• Planning out strategies for DB migration, DB consolidation and driving it end to end.
• Dig deep to discover the root causes of issues - exploring source code, databases, logs, and traces.
• Provide technical expertise, advice and guidance on technology aspects of database and application delivery services to management and other technical staff.
• Strong documentation skills in documenting processes, procedures and tools descriptions.
• Participate in and contribute to Release activities including Spec reviews.
• Understand and contribute to effective Monitoring of the critical components of the System.
• Ensure database security, integrity, and performance
• Proactive approach to database design, development, and management
• Recommend, implement, and maintain best practices and corporate standards

Candidate Profile (Required Qualifications)
• B.Tech/B.E/M.Tech/MCA or Equivalent degree from an accredited educational institution in Information Technology
• Must be ITIL certified
• Overall 6+ years of technical experience in solution design & maintenance support, with medium to large scale system integration projects in information systems
• Experience working in Tier 1 MNC System Integration companies
• Strong knowledge of standard hardware & software configurations, Storage and Computing
• Clarity in verbal and written communication in English
• Write Step-by-Step Processes, Solutions and Ticket Updates.
• Analytical and Problem Solving abilities. Create SOP/Guides.
• Maintain KEDB and can update technical documentation.
• Experience to work and interact with clients
• Strong understanding of Customer Support and Helpdesk Best Practices (ITIL certification preferred)
• Must have experience of managing sub-contractors for support services
• Must have experience of managing suppliers (both internal & external) for IT hardware, software and third party products
• Must have a drive for results and to make things happen, be proactive.
• Must demonstrate curiosity, versatility, dynamism, great autonomy and a good relationship with teams and hierarchy
• Creative, self-motivated, problem-solving skills (thinks outside of the box)
• Strong communication & collaboration skills in a multi-cultural international environment and teamwork skills. Good English, Hindi, Marathi communication skills (verbal, reading, writing).
• Strong customer relationship skills to deal with customer and other stakeholders regarding support issues with authority
