Database Engineer (Oracle DBA)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Developer / Administrator to join our technology team in Chennai. This is a permanent, full-time hybrid role where you will be instrumental in designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing our critical Oracle database systems. If you have a strong background in Oracle database technologies, including SQL and PL/SQL, and are looking for a challenging opportunity to contribute to robust and scalable solutions, we encourage you to apply.Database Development & Optimization :- Design, develop, and implement complex database solutions using Oracle Database.- Write and optimize high-performance SQL queries, views, functions, and stored Procedures to meet application requirements.- Develop and maintain robust PL/SQL packages, procedures, and triggers for data manipulation and business logic implementation.- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning to ensure optimal system responsiveness and scalability.- Collaborate with application development teams to understand data requirements and ensure efficient database integration.Database Administration & Maintenance :- Monitor Oracle database performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively implement solutions.- Perform regular database maintenance activities including backups, recovery, patch management, and space management.- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability for all Oracle databases.- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.- Contribute to the design and implementation of database architecture enhancements.Documentation & Best Practices :- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database designs, procedures, and configurations.- Adhere to database development and administration best practices and coding standards.- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to architectural guidelines.Provide expert support and guidance on Oracle database-related matters.- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.Skills Required :Mandatory :- Oracle Database (DB) : Deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, administration, and concepts.- SQL : Expert-level proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, analytical functions, and DDL/DML operations.- Strong experience in developing, debugging, and optimizing PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.- Procedures : Proven ability to design and implement robust stored procedures for various business needs.- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.Good to Have :- Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, or other high-availability solutions.- Knowledge of database security best practices.- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Shell scripting) for database automation.- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Understanding of data modeling principles.Qualifications :- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience working with Oracle databases in a development and/or administration capacity.- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- Immediate Joiner / Currently Serving Notice Period / Notice Period less than 45 days (ref:hirist.
