Job Description:
Siemens Healthineers has openings for full time Data scientist to support development of AI-based applications for products in Healthcare. The candidate would be working on one of the AI applications within the AI-Rad Companion suite of clinical AI applications.
The role of the data scientist is to be a bridge between the research teams developing Medical Imaging related AI algorithms, the engineering teams productizing it, the Regulatory team filing for country regulatory clearances and the clinical customers. Clear understanding of the fundamentals of medical imaging, radiology in particular is essential to perform the role. Understanding of the regulatory clearances and it’s needs for supporting evidence for AI algorithms is necessary as the person facilitates these inputs working closely with the research team and regulatory teams. High level Understanding of the AI and it’s applications in clinical context is essential to bring the information related to performance and reliability metrics. Work closely with the clinical evaluation report writers to provide insights into the AI application.
The applicant will join our innovation group in solving exciting and challenging research problems with real-world medical applications that require Data science. Our group develops medical image, text analytics and AI applications supporting clinicians and other medical professionals. We are well recognized for delivering cutting-edge intelligent solutions.
Responsibilities:
Contribute the development of Artificial Intelligence solutions for medical imaging
Support the product development and deployment of research prototypes
Support Scientific evaluation, setup and manage algorithm validation pipeline
Education:
Recently acquired Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Optimization, Mathematics or Statistics.
Experience:
4+ Years of experience
Skills/Competency:
Strong programming ability in both scripting and object-oriented programming languages is required (C/C++, C#, python, R)
Working knowledge of deep learning frameworks and libraries like pytorch, caffe, tensor flow and high-level APIs like Keras is preferable but not required
Prior exposure to machine learning and related fields is preferable but not required
Motivated, self-driven and with a strong ability to learn independently
Exhibits strong problem-solving skills
Self-directed and actively takes initiative
Familiar with DICOM Medical Raw image formats and it's applications
Familiar with Data science tools
Strong knowledge of regulatory needs related to medical devices, AI products in healthcare
