The Data Ops Engineer will contribute to the implementation of automation initiatives , work with existing software applications and their operating environments and assist in the manag ement of data orchestration tools such as Airflow.
Mō te Tūranga About the Role
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Perform hands on automation tasks to treat infrastructure as code .
Provide execution of activities related to infrastructure, upgrades and patching, security, continuous integration, continuous deployment, IT operations and metrics
Build and develop moderate volume/complexity data pipelines into a production environment.
Interactively analyse and manipulates data using a variety of data analysis and data mining assets that would support this evaluation.
What attributes will this person display to be successful in this role?
We are looking for someone with a minimum of five years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer/ Data Engineer including some of the following:
Proven experience with build and development tools and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with automating manual processes using scripting (Bash, Python etc.)
Experience with variety of programming and scripting languages ( .Net , Java, SQL)
Experience or interest in SQL on Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) relational databases (Snowflake)
Experience working in DevOps and Agile environments, as well as continuous integration tools (Bitbucket, Github , ADO , Octopus ).
