We are seeking Cyber Security Advisers to join our Cyber Security team to play a critical role in protecting the ATO from evolving and sophisticated cyber threats.

These roles combine advisory and technical responsibilities to strengthen the organisation’s security posture while enabling secure business outcomes.

As a Cyber Security Adviser, you will help safeguard the ATO’s information, systems, people and community by providing guidance, managing cyber risk, and enabling secure decision making.

You will apply your cyber security expertise to investigate moderately complex security functions and requirements, ensuring compliance with frameworks such as the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Protective Security Policy (PSPF). You will strengthen the organisation’s security posture by undertaking technical research and analysis, conducting cyber assessments, contributing to security impact assessments, and helping to raise awareness of cyber security best practices.

You will work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams to uplift security capabilities, supporting proactive risk management and stakeholder engagement, and contribute to the continuous improvement of cyber security strategies to enable secure and practical business outcomes. You will also uplift team capability through coaching and mentoring staff on cyber security practices.
