We are looking for an experienced physician with a strong interest in critical care medicine to work alongside our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of our unit's policies and procedures, as well as participate in quality improvement initiatives.

About the Role

This is a full-time position working within our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As a Critical Care Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, participating in teaching and supervision of junior doctors and nurses, and contributing to the development of our unit's policies and procedures.

\
The ICU at Southland Hospital has six beds and admits around 500 patients per annum. We are investing in significant staffing and resourcing to expand our services and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care in the ICU setting
\
Participate in teaching and supervision of junior doctors and nurses
\
Contribute to the development of our unit's policies and procedures
\
Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must hold a postgraduate training qualification in adult Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM or equivalent) and be eligible for vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council. You should also have a strong interest in critical care medicine and be able to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
