Job Description – Cost Optimization Consultant
Location: Pune
Duration: 12 Months Contractual
Joining: Immediate / Within 10–15 Days
About the Role
We are supporting a leading consulting firm in hiring for a Cost Optimization Consultant for an ongoing transformation engagement with a leading automotive client. The consultant will work closely with consulting teams and client stakeholders to drive cost reduction, operational efficiency, and savings realization initiatives across manufacturing and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking, and spend assessments
• Identify cost-saving and productivity improvement opportunities
• Support zero-based cost reduction and operational efficiency initiatives
• Track cost-saving projects, savings realization, and implementation progress
• Prepare dashboards, governance reports, and stakeholder updates
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, plant operations, procurement, finance, and transformation workstreams
• Monitor risks, dependencies, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution
Required Experience
• 5–10 years of experience in cost optimization, cost reduction, operational excellence, manufacturing consulting, or transformation projects
• Experience in automotive, auto components, manufacturing, industrial engineering, operations, procurement, or plant cost management is preferred
• Strong understanding of cost drivers, productivity metrics, efficiency improvement frameworks, and savings tracking
• Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting and transformation environment with multiple stakeholders
