The Good Plate Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced Corporate Executive Chef to lead culinary operations across our restaurant group.
This role requires a proven culinary leader with experience leading multi-unit kitchen operations within a $20M+ hospitality environment. The ideal candidate brings strong operational discipline, leadership presence, and a hands-on approach to team development and execution.
The right candidate can balance high-level strategy with day-to-day operational leadership while maintaining exceptional standards in food quality, consistency, and kitchen performance.
Responsibilities
Lead culinary operations across multiple restaurant concepts and locations
Develop and mentor Executive Sous Chefs, Sous Chefs, and kitchen teams
Improve kitchen systems, training, consistency, and execution standards
Oversee menu development, recipe systems, costing, and operational efficiency
Maintain culinary and presentation standards across all locations
Partner with corporate leadership on culinary strategy and growth initiatives
Drive accountability in food cost, labor management, sanitation, and overall kitchen performance
Ability to travel regularly between Downtown, River North, and Northfield locations
Experience leading new restaurant openings (NROs), including culinary oversight, operational readiness, and supporting kitchen leadership teams through staffing, training, and execution
Qualifications
6+ years of back-of-house leadership experience in high-volume or multi-unit hospitality environments
Executive culinary leadership experience within a hospitality or restaurant group exceeding $20M in annual revenue
Strong background in chef-driven, fine dining, or upscale dining environments preferred
Proven ability to lead, train, and develop kitchen teams
Strong understanding of kitchen operations, systems, and multi-unit scalability
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and support operational needs as required
Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work alongside teams
Passion for culinary excellence, mentorship, and operational standards
Proficiency in restaurant operating systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite required; Restaurant365 and Toast preferred
Certified Food Protection Manager & City of Chicago Food Service Sanitation Certificate required

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
