What can you expect?
The Cook works to prepare consistent, high-quality food in a specified outlet at the Resort. This role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of food service, presentation, and quality are met. The Cook works under the supervision of the Sous Chef and Resort Chefs, or designates, and closely with all culinary and warehousing departments at Sunshine.
This job might be right for you if you think you would really enjoy:
Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods, including:
Prepare and cook individual dishes and foods
Oversee kitchen operations
set up, cleaning, and organization of work areas
Ensuring that all food service standards, health and safety regulations, and quality controls are followed consistently and thoroughly
Able to be hands on in food preparation and serving, when needed
Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities
Assisting with the training of kitchen staff, including completing documentation
Timely and accurate incident and deficiencies reporting.
May assist with menu planning, food portions, estimates of requirements and costs.
Assisting with monitoring and ordering supplies.
And you have:
Experience as a cook in a fast-paced food service
All food handling / food safety permits are required.
Strong communication & organization skills
Outgoing, positive, friendly attitude.
Calm under pressure and patient, able to exercise good decision making.
Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
Prepared to work flexible schedules (weekends, holidays)
Maintain professional conduct when in uniform, on or off-duty, and online.
Effectively provide support, and assistance to coworkers.
Attend and actively participate in meetings and training.
Must be neat, punctual, and dependable.
Additional Considerations:
Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
This position works at high altitude and at times, in inclement weather. Prolonged periods of standing, repetitive motions, bending and twisting is required.
Some required uniform pieces are provided.
