Job Description
Job Overview The Controller - Accounting Operations, Inventory and Controls is responsible for the reliability and accuracy of the Companys accounting processes, subledgers, reconciliations, and transactional accounting. The role oversees AP, AR, payroll, inventory, cash, fixed assets, leases, prepaid expenses, accruals, and intercompany transactions. This is a hands-on role focused on investigating discrepancies, correcting process failures, and establishing repeatable, well-controlled accounting procedures.
Duties Responsibilities
• Maintain GL accounts and reconciliations; prepare and review journal entries; support monthly, quarterly, and annual close; oversee AP, AR, and payroll accounting; manage inventory and cost accounting; perform bank reconciliations; maintain fixed-asset, lease, prepaid, and accrual schedules; manage intercompany transactions; identify process and control gaps; standardize accounting procedures; support audit remediation; supervise accounting personnel and escalate issues to leadership
Education Training
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or a closely related field. Minimum 7+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience and 2+ years of accounting management, supervisory, or formal work-review experience. CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, or comparable professional accounting designation is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills Experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GL accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, root-cause analysis, and discrepancy resolution. Experience with AP, AR, payroll, cash, fixed assets, leases, prepaid expenses, accruals, intercompany accounting, inventory and cost accounting. Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems proficiency, strong English communication, audit-quality documentation skills, leadership ability, and experience working with multi-entity or multi-location businesses. Preferred experience includes public-company controls, external audits, inventory-intensive industries, process improvements, physical inventory, cycle counting, inventory reserves, freight accounting, and supervising distributed accounting teams.
