Job Overview
Daniels Law Firm, PLLC is a fast-growing boutique family law firm based in Houston, Texas. We are experiencing a significant increase in new cases and are seeking an experienced family law litigation paralegal to support case production and management on a contract / part-time basis, with the potential to grow into a long-term role. We value professionalism, sound judgment, and ownership of work product over micromanagement.
This position is ideal for a self-directed, detail-oriented paralegal who is comfortable managing litigation tasks with minimal supervision and thrives in a high-standards environment.
Responsibilities
Draft family law pleadings including:
Original Petitions, Answers, Counterpetitions
Motions for Temporary Orders
Notices of Hearing
Proposed Orders
Prepare and manage discovery:
Draft discovery requests
Assemble and organize discovery responses
Track discovery deadlines
Assist with mediation and hearing preparation:
Mediation summaries
Hearing notebooks and exhibits
Manage case files and deadlines.
Maintain organized, court-ready files.
Communicate with clients regarding document collection and status updates (no legal advice)
Maintain organized, court-ready files.
What This Role Is NOT
This is not an entry-level or training role
This is not a virtual assistant position
This is not a role requiring daily step-by-step direction
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3+ years of TEXAS family law paralegal experience
Strong litigation drafting skills
Familiarity with Texas family law procedures and deadlines
Ability to work independently and meet firm deadlines
Excellent written communication and organizational skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing firm
Experience with MyCase or similar case management software
Experience supporting attorneys in contested custody or support matters
Experience working with a boutique or small law firm
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Paid per hour or per task (to be discussed)
Contract position (1099)
