About the Role
Join CALHN as a Consultant Specialist in Perioperative Medicine, delivering expert care for high-risk patients. Shape clinical services, support trainees, and contribute to research, teaching, and service development across a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
You will:
Manage perioperative care for complex, high-risk patients
Build strong links with surgical, anaesthetic, and nursing teams
Guide and teach undergraduate and postgraduate trainees
Drive quality improvement projects and clinical research
Assist in planning and evolving department services
About You
We are looking for a Consultant Specialist who thrives in high-risk perioperative care and enjoys teaching, collaborating, and driving service excellence.
You will have:
MBBS or equivalent and specialist registration with the Medical Board
Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent
Expertise in perioperative assessment and patient management
Experience teaching undergraduates and postgraduates
Strong communication skills and commitment to quality improvement
