Are you an experienced Staff Accountant looking for a new challenge? We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join a dynamic corporate Accounting Department at a leading national general contractor. This role offers a hands-on experience in various aspects of corporate accounting and will allow you to work closely with a collaborative accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
• Calculate and record accruals, overhead absorption, inter-company allocations, fixed asset depreciation, and amortization.
• Prepare and file sales and gross receipts taxes throughout the year.
• Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
• Balance and reconcile job cost and intercompany accounts.
• Administer corporate credit cards.
• Support management with year-end audits and tax preparation.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
• Perform ad hoc reporting, analytics, and internal audits as assigned.
• Undertake other duties as directed by your supervisor.
What We're Looking For
• At least two years of experience in corporate General Ledger accounting.
• A solid understanding of accounting principles, supported by a four-year degree in accounting/finance or relevant experience with GAAP accounting.
• Moderate experience in cost and/or construction accounting is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Timberline/Sage software is preferred.
• A self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with AR/AP and preparing/filing SALT is a plus but not required.
