Job Description

Construction & Infrastructure

Litigation Associate

Lenczner Slaght is widely recognized as Canada's leading litigation firm.

Because litigation is all we do, our clients benefit from focused expertise

and trial-ready thinking.

For more than three decades, we have built a premier construction and

infrastructure litigation practice. We act for owners, developers,

contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, lenders, and

underwriters in high-stakes disputes arising from projects that shape

skylines and infrastructure across Canada and internationally – from

complex residential developments to multi-billion-dollar transit, energy,

and public works projects.

If you want to litigate the cases that define the industry – this is where you

do it.

the opportunity:

We are seeking a litigator qualified to practice in Ontario with 2-5 years of

experience in construction and infrastructure disputes.

This role is designed for lawyers who want more than document

management and back-office research. At Lenczner Slaght, associates

are advocates. You will:

Take ownership of meaningful components of complex files

Appear in court and arbitration proceedings

Conduct examinations and argue motions

Work directly with sophisticated clients and leading experts

Develop strategy alongside some of Canada’s most respected trial

lawyers

Our construction litigators are regularly involved in high-value arbitrations

and complex litigation that set precedents and shape risk allocation in the

industry. You will not wait years for real advocacy experience – you will

build it here.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

You are ambitious, intellectually rigorous, and motivated by high-

performance environments. You thrive on responsibility and take pride in

precision.

We are seeking candidates with:

Demonstrated experience in construction and infrastructure litigation

Strong understanding of construction industry practices

Familiarity with lien claims and procedures

The ability to manage complex, document-intensive files

Excellent judgment, organization, and attention to detail

A client-first mindset and commitment to exceptional service

The ability to work independently while contributing meaningfully to a

collaborative team

Real estate litigation experience is an asset but not required.

why lenczner slaght:

At Lenczner Slaght, associates develop faster because they do more. We

believe advocacy skills are built in hearings, not in theory.

Our partners are consistently ranked among the top litigators in Canada

and are deeply invested in mentorship. We combine ***** advocacy with

structured development, real responsibility, and a culture that expects

excellence – and supports you in achieving it.

This posting is for an existing vacancy. Applications should be addressed

to Lauren Sigal, Director of Legal Talent. Qualified candidates should

submit a cover letter, résumé and transcripts online HERE.

Applications will be reviewed as received. Only candidates selected for

an interview will be contacted.

Where the best get better.
