Job Description
Snyder & Associates General Contractor is seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in commercial construction projects. You will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and finishing structures and fixtures according to specifications and building codes.
Key Responsibilities:
Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and building plans to meet client requirements
Construct building frameworks including walls, floors, and doorframes
Install windows, doors, staircases, and trim work
Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Ensure work is performed in compliance with building codes and safety regulations
Collaborate with other construction professionals such as electricians and plumbers
Maintain a clean and organized job site
Follow project timelines and meet deadlines
Following & executing directions from superintendent/supervisor
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program preferred
Proven experience as a carpenter in construction
Proficient in using electrical and manual tools and measurement equipment
Ability to read technical documents and drawings
Good understanding of basic math and geometry
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with potential overtime depending on project needs
Work may take place indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions
Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery
