The Carpenter will perform a variety of tasks related to pouring concrete in the construction or repair of marine terminals, dock facilities, and/or railroad bridges
Responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing concrete forms
Use hand or power tools to shape, cut, sharpen, smooth, and finish surfaces
Reading dimensions from plans and drawings to determine the size and shape of required materials
Tie reinforcing steel and assist in concrete placement as required, including the construction of decks, bulkheads/seawalls, and other structures
Work with and assist crew in excavation activities which may include: hoisting material, tools and equipment, cleaning and preparing the work site, digging trenches, setting braces and/or forms, shoveling concrete and/or dirt into construction areas, clean-up of rubble and debris, and removal of waste materials
Maintain a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secure the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
Perform other related duties as assigned
The individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation
The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required
