Under the general direction of the Process Improvement Coordinator the Computerized Work Management System (CWMS) Specialist acts as a consultant and is responsible for the acquisition, development and implementation of computerized work management systems within the Wastewater Services Division.

This individual will provide leadership and direction to professional and technical staff assigned to CWMS projects. They will provide training to new staff and refresher training to existing staff on CWMS/ Oracle Work and Asset Management (OWAM).

The CWMS Specialist also assists with project management, policy development, strategic planning, budgetary control, contract management and consultation services aimed at the implementation and the continuous improvement of the Division's use of CWMS.

As the Computerized Work Management System (CWMS), you will:

Be responsible for the implementation and application of the Computerized Work Management System (CWMS) to improve work practices in the Divisions operating areas.
Educate division staff on how to use the work management software through stages of training and development to on-going improvements and system upgrades.
Act as the Division’s representative on the CWMS Change Management Steering Committee.
Be responsible for monitoring the existing system technology to support the CWMS implementation.
Be responsible for keeping pace with industry standards for work management practices and supporting software systems.
Your education and qualifications include:

Information Technology Certification in related field is required.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related field is desirable.
Five (5) years of prior related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable for this position.
Knowledge of application of computerized work management systems.
Knowledge in asset management database products and concepts.
Knowledge in City’s organization and operations and management practices.
Demonstrated experience in providing leadership, direction and training to others.
Knowledge and experience in SQL and Crystal Reports is preferred.
Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal, including public speaking.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, both external and internal sources, in both team and leadership roles.
Knowledge in Client/Server technology, local area networks, Internet access and computer-based development.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
Conditions of employment:

The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
A Police Information Check satisfactory to the employer will be required from the successful candidate, at their expense.
Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License. The successful applicant will be required to provide a driver’s notice in force document upon request.
