Computer Network & Systems Engineer
Job Description
The role is responsible for supporting end-users by ensuring continuity of computer system services and by providing technical expertise, assistance, and project coordination necessary to install computer software, modify/repair hardware products and resolve technical problems.
Reporting directly to the Head of Group IT, your responsibilities include:
Monitor system performance, apply upgrades and ensure high availability.
Maintain a high level of communication on the phone and face-to-face with suppliers and staff to ensure they are left with a positive experience.
Support various Microsoft products such as Share Point, Windows Server, Windows Desktop and Office365.
The support of hardware and software for Dell devices and applications.
Network and product support for printers and photocopiers and liaising with the printer vendor if required.
Responsible for configuring, maintaining, and updating network hardware such as firewalls, switches and more.
Understanding of LAN, WAN and Hybrid systems.
Perform proactive and reactive networking tasks with firewall, router and switch hardware.
Provide one on one training when requested.
Maintain all local software and hardware licensing to ensure conformance.
Maintain servers, patching, security, and system backups.
Ad hoc duties and projects as required.
Key skills required for role:
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or relevant discipline
Minimum of 2 years’ IT support experience.
Excellent technical knowledge of PC and desktop hardware, including, laptops, printers, scanners, etc.
Experience with supporting and troubleshooting hardware, systems & applications.
Experience in ERP systems, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (advantageous).
A supportive team player with a can do attitude.
Scripting experience (PowerShell) is highly desirable.
Excellent written & verbal communication.
