Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for receiving customer orders, applying clinical knowledge to appropriateness of prescription orders, verification of processed orders, working jointly with other pharmacists and compounding pharmacy technicians to compound orders, and other duties as assigned
Directly supervise compounding personnel
Perform and accurately document compounding procedures, quality assurance/quality control checks, and release of compounded preparations
Train and evaluate compounding personnel
Use vital equipment such as computers, scanners, phones, or other technology devices as assigned
Receive and process customer and veterinarian orders
Calibrate, maintain, and use equipment to compound prescription orders and monitor the compounding environment
Review and approve materials for use in compounding
Answer questions/provide consultation
Follow all safety, USP, and internal guidelines for preparation of compounded medications
Exposure to chemicals used in the preparation of compounds
Follow safety precaution when working with hazardous chemical in accordance with USP 800 and applicable laws
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Must display excellent problem-solving skills
When required, wear all personal protective equipment (PPE)
Willingness to complete external training as needed
