Working Pattern
Monday to Friday, typically 08:00–20:00
(Some days may run over due to traffic/appointment changes. Occasional overnight hotel stays required.)
Role Overview
We’re looking for a reliable, professional self-employed driver to drive our company van and transport a senior team member to appointments across the UK. This is a long-distance role where punctuality, safe driving, and professionalism are essential. Some weeks will require overnight stays when routes are too far for a same-day return.
Responsibilities
• Drive a company van safely and professionally between appointments across the UK
• Plan routes efficiently (traffic-aware), ensuring on-time arrivals
• Manage day logistics: parking, fuel stops, tolls, rest breaks
• Carry out basic daily vehicle checks (tyres, lights, fluids) and report issues quickly
• Keep the van clean, presentable, and ready for daily use
• Communicate clearly if delays occur and adapt to schedule changes when needed
• Stay overnight in hotels when required (Mon–Fri only)
Requirements (Essential)
• Full UK driving licence (clean or minimal points)
• Strong motorway and long-distance driving confidence
• Proven reliability and punctuality (high importance for this role)
• Comfortable with nationwide travel and occasional overnight stays
• Professional, calm, and respectful manner
• Able to manage fatigue responsibly and take breaks as needed
Desirable
• Previous experience in professional driving (chauffeur, courier, field-based roles, exec transport)
• Familiarity with Waze/Google Maps and confident route planning
• DBS check (or willing to complete one)
Self-Employed Terms
• Driver must be self-employed and able to invoice monthly
• Driver is responsible for their own tax/NI and compliance as a subcontractor
• Company van provided for business travel
• Travel expenses covered (fuel/parking/hotels when required – method to be agreed: company card, reimbursement, or invoiced line items)
