A Day in the Life of a Commis Chef
You will report to the Executive Head Chef and be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes. Your duties will include:
Assisting in the preparation and cooking of dishes in accordance with RBH recipes and standards.
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations.
Learning and mastering basic culinary techniques under the guidance of senior kitchen team.
Supporting the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and Head Chef in maintaining inventory levels and ordering supplies.
Following instructions and completing tasks assigned by senior kitchen staff in a timely and efficient manner.
What We Need from You
To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualities and skills:
The ability to adhere to company rules and regulations on policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health safety, and licensing regulations.
The ability to manage various sections of the kitchen while ensuring health safety standards are met.
To be flexible in your approach and assist the Sous Chef and any other members of the kitchen brigade when required.
A team player who thrives in the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen department.
Someone who is passionate about food and willing to learn.
An understanding of quality control and kitchen standards.
