About the Role

The Arts, Heritage and Libraries Branch enrich the lives of residents and visitors by providing cultural leadership, knowledge, connections and experiences that strengthen our community. Through libraries, arts and heritage services, the branch plays a vital role in fostering lifelong learning, inclusion and community engagement across the Sunshine Coast.

As the Collections Acquisitions Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality library services through the acquisition and management of library collections, with a focus on Languages Other Than English (LOTE) collections, serials and newspapers. Working closely with library teams across the region, you will help ensure our collections remain contemporary, relevant and accessible, while identifying opportunities to enhance processes and improve customer experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how our community discovers, accesses and enjoys library resources.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage LOTE collections, including acquisitions, catalogue updates, reporting and branch distribution.
Oversee serial and newspaper subscriptions, ensuring quality control, processing and delivery across library branches.
Contribute to the development and acquisition of contemporary library collections that meet community needs.
Research and implement innovative improvements that enhance collection management practices and customer access.
About you

You have a qualification in Library and Information Services, or equivalent experience, and enjoy supporting the delivery of quality library services.
You bring strong experience working in a library, customer service or similar environment, with the ability to apply procedures, policies and legislation confidently and professionally.
Highly organised and self-motivated, you excel at managing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You can work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
You are a confident communicator with excellent customer service skills and are comfortable using a range of digital systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications to support your work.
