This role demands deep technical expertise, strong architectural decision-making capabilities, and the ability to lead teams while owning the end-to-end system design, performance, and delivery timelines. The architect will collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, data, and product teams to ensure the platform is secure, performant, cost-efficient, and future-ready.What do we expectArchitecture & System Design**812 years*of professional software engineering experience, with **35 years*in an architect or technical leadership role, owning system design and delivery decisions.Design and maintain a single codebase, multi-market architecture with a roadmap toward tenant-aware deployments, ensuring market-specific infrastructure is avoided.Define scalable REST API architecture to support both web and mobile clients.Architect high-availability, fault-tolerant systems using AKS with Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA) and Kubernetes Event-driven Autoscaling (KEDA).Drive memory-optimized and performance-efficient API designs for handling large data volumes.Cloud & Kubernetes (Azure)Lead the architecture on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including:* Pod autoscaling (HPA)* Event-driven scaling (KEDA)* Resource optimization and cost controlImplement secure secret management using Azure Key Vault.Design cloud-native deployment patterns aligned with Azure best practices.Backend & API EngineeringOversee the development of Django-based REST APIs.Architect background processing using Celery and Redis.Optimize Gunicorn worker configurations for performance and memory efficiency.Ensure APIs maintain efficient response times when dealing with large datasets.Data ArchitectureDesign and optimize data storage utilizing:* Azure SQL for structured, high-volume transactional data, including indexing strategies, partitioning, and query optimization.* Cosmos DB for NoSQL workloads.Define comprehensive caching strategies using Redis, including API response caching and cache invalidation when underlying data changes.Work with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Databricks (ADB) for reporting and data pipelines.Security & IntegrationIntegrate and manage APIGEE as the API Gateway.Handle Okta token validation and manage authentication/authorization flows.Ensure platform security, compliance, and best practices across all services.Observability & DevOpsImplement centralized logging and monitoring using the Elastic Stack.Define CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Pipelines.Manage repositories, branching strategies, and code quality validation.Enforce best practices for code reviews, testing, and release management.Leadership & DeliveryProvide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.Participate in architecture reviews and technical decision-making.Collaborate with product and project managers to estimate work, define milestones, and manage delivery against project timelines.Use Azure DevOps Boards for planning, tracking, and execution.Act as the bridge between business requirements and technical solutions.Required Technical SkillsMust HaveAzure Cloud Architecture (AKS, Key Vault, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB)Kubernetes, HPA, KEDADjango REST FrameworkCelery, RedisAPIGEE API GatewayOkta authentication & token validationAzure DevOps (Boards, Repos, Pipelines)SQL performance tuning (indexing, partitioning, query optimization)Designing APIs for large data volumesLogging and monitoring (Elastic Stack)Nice to HaveMulti-tenant SaaS architecture experienceCost optimization strategies in AzureEvent-driven architecturesExperience supporting high-traffic mobile applicationsSoft Skills & LeadershipStrong ownership mindset and decisive decision-making ability.Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proven experience managing and mentoring teams.Ability to balance short-term delivery goals with the long-term architectural vision.Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.You are important to us, lets stay connected!Every individual comes with a different set of skills and qualities so even if you dont tick all the boxes for the role today, we urge you to apply as there might be a suitable/unique role for you tomorrow.
