Job Description

Role Overview:

The Cloud Security Architect plays a vital role in shaping and securing our cloud solutions across leading platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. This position requires hands-on experience in managing cloud services in a hybrid environment while implementing and upholding strong security controls. You will work closely with IT, Cloud Engineering & Operations, Network Operations, and Data Science teams, serving as a technical leader and the main point of contact for cloud security initiatives, migrations, and integrations.

How You'll Help Our Team Succeed:
• Design and deploy secure cloud solutions leveraging Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure, emphasizing best security practices.
• Research and implement innovative cloud security technologies to boost our organization’s security posture.
• Support cloud-hosted applications to ensure compliance with strict security standards.
• Develop and manage cloud cost governance, focusing on security aspects to prevent unauthorized access and financial discrepancies.
• Conduct regular audits of cloud service accounts, permissions, and access rights to align with security policies.
• Foster strong relationships across IT teams to promote effective collaboration on cloud security challenges.
• Perform gap analyses concerning current and future security requirements, recommending practical improvements.
• Oversee secure connectivity to cloud services, ensuring encrypted and protected data transfers.
• Monitor maintenance event logs in cloud environments and resolve any identified issues.
• Maintain security patches in harmony with industry best practices.
• Create and update cloud-related security policies and operational documentation in collaboration with the Director of Information Security.
• Develop training materials for IT staff regarding cloud security protocols and procedures.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with a preference for candidates with professional services experience.
• Extensive experience administering and supporting AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and O365 environments.
• Proven track record of cloud security implementations, migrations, and integrations within secure frameworks.
• Familiarity with programmatic cloud security administration, including cloud APIs and CloudFormation Templates on AWS for secure configurations.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux and server administration.
• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and experience.
• Cloud Professional Certification is required (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, or similar).
• Additional security-related IT certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) will be advantageous.

Cornerstone Research offers competitive salaries across various locations. Here are some examples of the salary ranges available:
Boston: $141,400 - $171,500
Chicago: $134,000 - $162,500
Los Angeles: $140,400 - $170,300
New York: $143,800 - $174,400
San Francisco: $154,200 - $187,000
Washington, D.C.: $138,800 - $168,400

We believe in providing more than just a competitive base salary. Our total compensation package includes an annual performance bonus and comprehensive benefits such as flexible healthcare options, paid time off, and retirement savings plans. Please note that relocation assistance is not available for this position.
