Job Summary
The Team
The administrative teams in Ashcroft, Lillooet, and Clearwater are small but vital units that provide essential support to program staff across various service areas. These teams consist of 1 to 2 full-time admin staff members who work closely with Social Workers, Child Youth Mental Health Workers, Resource Workers, and the Director of Operations. Known for their strong communication and teamwork, these established teams are deeply committed to their shared goal of supporting vulnerable individuals and families. New team members can expect a collaborative environment where staff work together to accomplish administrative tasks and contribute meaningfully to the delivery of social services in rural communities.

The Role
This on-call auxiliary administrative position offers an excellent entry point into a career with the BC Public Service. The role is responsible for a range of administrative duties, including records management and providing day-to-day support to service delivery staff. A key part of the role also includes assisting clients both over the phone and in person, helping assess their needs and directing them appropriately. Working in a rural community, this position plays an important part in ensuring that vulnerable children, youth, and families receive timely and effective support. It’s a meaningful opportunity for candidates who are passionate about public service and making a difference in their community.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
Must possess and maintain a valid BC class 5 Driver’s license or equivalent.
Experience working in a computerized environment using various computer applications and data bases. (For example: Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Experience providing quality customer or client service, carrying out duties and responding to client needs in a professional manner.
Experience working independently and as a team member with a multi-disciplinary environment and with other professional staff, client, and service providers.
Preferences may be given to applicants with:

Administrative support experience in an office environment.
WILLINGNESS STATEMENTS:

May be required to travel within the service area in adverse (reasonable) weather conditions.
May be required to use your own vehicle, with appropriate insurance, on an expense account basis.
