About the roleThe role of the Clinical Nurse is to provide direct and indirect client focused clinical expertise, support and education to nursing staff within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Townsville Univerity Hospital to ensure best practice, quality care is provided.
Skills and experience

* Comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders.
* Provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.
* Provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.

Role requirements

* Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
* Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
